Mandelic acid is a special Alpha Hydroxy Acid  that differs from glycolic acid, for
example, by a special structural feature – an aromatic ring.

Due to this structure, it is significantly larger than, for example, glycolic
acid – penetrates slower and more evenly into the skin. Therefore, it is
considered a relatively mild acid, which is also suitable for slightly more

sensitive skin. The complexion can be positively influenced by its particularly
uniform penetration properties, and uneven pigmentation can be counteracted.  

Another special feature: Mandelic acid is similar to salicylic acid, as it is able to 
penetrate clogged pores and to release accumulated sebum.
